LICHFIELD FESTIVAL FRIENDS
Lichfield Festival began in 1982 predominantly as a music festival. It now includes a Literature Festival in the spring, a multi-arts Festival in the summer, and a Chamber Music Festival in the autumn, with other one-off events promoted from time to time. It provides a huge stimulus to the city’s cultural life and entertainment, as well as contributing to the local economy.
Lichfield Festival Friends started in 1982 (as the Lichfield Festival Association) to raise funds for the Festival and over the years it has become one of its main sources of revenue. Joining Lichfield Festival Friends is one of the best ways to support the Festival, contributing directly to its future success, and ensuring that the performing arts continue to flourish in the Midlands.
Lichfield Festival Friends arranges events throughout the year, both for the enjoyment of our members and guests, and to further support the Lichfield Festival. Our members and guests enjoyed a stunning piano recital by Junyan Chen, who appeared in the Festival’s Young Artist programme in 2022. Click here for report of the concert. Junyan competed in the Leeds International Piano Competition in September, as well as the International Piano Competition of Orleans in October/November.
