We are sorry to announce that we have had to cancel the Final of this year’s Midlands Choir of the Year Competition, originally scheduled for July 11th 2021. Although the Lichfield Festival will be running this year (July 8th – 18th 2021), the roadmap timeline set out by the government did not give all of our finalist choirs time to meet and prepare sufficiently ahead of the event. In the interest of fairness to all competitors, we have therefore made the difficult decision to delay the inaugural MCOTY competition until it is possible for choirs to rehearse and perform together as normal.
The Competition will be back for 2022 and further details will appear here shortly. If you have queries or require further information in the meantime, please do contact us on info@mcoty.org.
We are very grateful to all of our 2021 Finalists (taken from our 2020 applications) for their patience over the last few months. We very much look forward to welcoming you all as MCOTY competitors at the 40th Lichfield Festival in 2022.
